DRESS CODE FOR WESTERN MAINE BOARD OF BASEBALL UMPIRES
(As amended June 1, 2008)
In an effort to dress all umpires uniformly, the following are the approved items for the Western Maine Board of Baseball Umpires:
- Black or Navy Hat with the WM insignia
- If a hockey style plate mask is worn, the hat is not required.
- Navy Blue Pullover Short Sleeve Shirt w/ Red and White trim w/buttons
- Light Blue Pullover Short Sleeve Shirt w/ Navy and White trim w/buttons
- The Plate umpire will determine which color shirt will be worn for the game. Both umpires will match.
- Long sleeves may be worn under pullovers providing the sleeve color matches the shirt color.
- Any solid color T-shirt
- Navy, Black, Grey or Light Blue Turtleneck
- Navy Plate Coat or Navy Jacket (with either red/white/blue trim OR grey/white trim)
- Navy or Black Sweater w/ State Patch During School Season
- Grey Slacks, either pleated or unpleated
- Black or Navy Belt
- Black, Navy or Grey ball bag
- Navy or Black Socks
- Polished Black Plate or Base Shoes
- Black Gloves (if worn)
- FOR Non-MPA GAMES ONLY: A navy blue, light blue, black, or cream-colored pullover short sleeve shirt. The Plate umpire will determine which color shirt will be worn for the game except that if both umpires do not have a black or cream-colored pullover short sleeve shirt, then the Plate umpire must choose navy blue or light blue.
All outer garments will display the State patch (SMUA) on the left breast when umpiring all school baseball games.
For Summer (non-MPA) baseball games, either the State Patch or the WMBU Patch must be on the outer garment.
Sweatshirts with the WMBU Logo are not authorized outer garments.
